Six-year-old Taffy came to the MD SPCA stray, with ear mites, broken teeth, and a compromised immune system. He really needed help!
Our compassionate medical team cleaned his ears, the scratches on his face from the itching, and did full blood work. It turned out that Taffy had FIV, which compromises the immune system. They also scheduled him for surgery to take out those painful broken teeth.
In the meantime, he relaxed in an experienced foster home. He enjoyed the company of other FIV cats, snuggling on blankets, and the love of chin scratches. He also took medicine to help with the pain and infection.
After Taffy’s dental surgery, he healed nicely and was made available for adoption! Finally, after six months in the MD SPCA’s care, Taffy found a loving adopter.
