She came to the MD SPCA with adorable snorts and a loving aura.
Her birth defects don’t lessen her quality of life. But she needed an adopter who’d keep a close eye on her. Mummie has to keep her weight down for her joints. And her thick windpipe makes her susceptible to respiratory disease and heat stroke.
Mummie quickly stole the heart of the staff member who fostered her. “I called her my ‘office gremlin’ because of her funny sounds. Mummie would sit at my feet, under my desk, and drift off while I worked. Her spay surgery took longer than normal, and she really needed to be monitored overnight. Either Mummie was coming home with me, or I was sleeping in the kennel. As soon as I brought her home, she fell asleep and snored in the crate. I stayed up through the night and fell asleep next to her crate. Then her whole demeanor really blossomed.”
Seven weeks later, Mummie found a family who was ready to take on her medical challenges. She instantly bonded with her adopters. We know every day with her will bring them joy and laughter. She’s a one-of-a-kind girl in a one-of-a-kind home!
