Folklore

One evening in May, a staff member leaving for the day saw a carrier in our driveway. Their heart sank when they realized a cat was inside.

The MD SPCA’s team sprang into action. Our medical team discovered the cat’s ear was severely impacted, causing painful itching. The cat also had a large scar on his left eye. He was understandably shy but still very sweet. We cleaned and soothed the cat’s ears, started him on meds, and gave him the name Folklore.

Our dedicated behavior and animal care teams took time to socialize with Folklore on his own terms, discovering he was a very loving cat. He enjoyed rolling around getting chin scratches and headbutting people’s legs. Soon enough, Folklore became available and quickly found the quiet, loving home he needed.
