Shultzie Is Already SpoiledAmazing what a big dose of love can do for a dog. Shultzie has been with us for about 12 hours, and he is completely at home and loving life! We heard him bark as he chimed in with Buddy for a welcome home greeting for Lizzie and Bo. Right now at 1:30 a.m. both dogs are sacked out on the sofa. Shultzie had an exciting day: he went for several long walks, got a good bubble bath and had a little ground beef in with his dinner. Spoiled already!!! xoxoxo Thank you to everyone at the SPCA. —Andrea |
McGruff Will Always Be LovedAdopting McGruff was one of the best things that happened to my family. McGruff was our special Shar Pei boy. He was the smartest dog I ever met. He would go to bed everynight at 9 p.m. by jumping in the bed, going under the blanket, placing his head on the pillow and going to sleep. Sadly after many years of happiness, McGruff has passed on. He will always be loved. I recently adopted another dog. It was very hard for me to consider loving another pet, but McGruff would want me to love another. Give another dog a good home and continue making pet memories. In Loving Memory of McGruff —Crystal |

Kopper is Thankful for HomeHi, guys. It's Kopper (formerly Budro). It's been a little while, and I just wanted to let you know how I am doing. When I was at the SPCA, I was the pet of the month, and I think that's a well deserved award. My mom and dad both tell me how good I am all the time. I mainly just wanted to thank you guys for putting me back together the way you did. I am so glad all my scars from the past have faded away. I have two sisters now—a jack russell and another pit bull just like me. We have so much fun all day. My parents take me for walks, and they even take me to a farm so I can run around every day. I have gained at least 30lbs since I left, and I get my hair done all the time. I mainly just wanted to thank you for letting them adopt me. Now I am finally in a place that I can call home. —Kopper (adopted by Stephanie) |
Paulie is the Best Guy
I brought Paulie home with me in June of 2006. At that time his name was Paul, and I added the "ie" to it. I grew up with cats and have owned other cats as well at different points in my life, but I have never had one as sweet as he is. My father jokes and says that he's the best guy I've ever brought home with me. But, in a way it's true. He's always there. He greets me at the door when I come home, follows me around my apartment and is very friendly to anyone who comes by. He is definitely a lap cat and doesn't give me much time to become lonely. He's always there purring and happy, even when I'm not. He has even starred in his own video right here: http://www.visitmybaltimore.com/video/382/ |

Maggie Was a Great DogMaggie, then Rita, was adopted the day before a blizzard in 1996. We came to the SPCA to adopt a dog for my daughter's birthday. It had been three years since our previous dog had died. Maggie was a german shepherd mix. My husband decided as soon as he saw her that she was the one coming home. All the dogs were barking and jumping at the gates, except Maggie. She just layed on the floor watching us. When we all agreed to take her home, she was put on a leash and walked out to the office. She walked right to the counter, jumped up, put her paws on the counter and barked twice, as if to say goodbye! She was a great dog who become a big part of our family. Unfortunately just last week we found out she had an advanced stage of cancer, and we had to let her go. I keep listening for footsteps on the kitchen floor and look for her when I come home from work. She is greatly missed, but all of us know we gave her a loving home and were greatly rewarded in the long run. —Karen |

Ringo has become part of the familyRingo became a part of the family so quickly! Pokie, our other dog, is still getting used to her, but she still loves her like a baby sister. Ringo's made the couch her new bed and always howls when I leave her, including at bedtime. So she now sleeps in my bedroom. She is just so cute! —Sarah |
